Fortunes in cookies were discussed here a few weeks ago; between then and now I had my favorite Vietnamese food and got a fortune cookie! Phở (or pho) is a Vietnamese soup dish of broth, rice noodles, herbs and meat, usually beef phở bò and sometimes chicken phở gà. It is Vietnam's national dish and originated in the early 20th century in the northern region of the country. It has been popularized throughout the world by Vietnam War refugees, Texas the next largest USA concentration after California. The message piqued my interest; how subjective is a closed mind compared to an open one? Who decides how far open or closed the mind's doors should be, to qualify as either? I ask The Committee to weigh in.

WHOA! Hold the press!!... So, TC is telling us that they pressed the pause button on the humans who made the fortune cookie so they could slip the message that they created inside the exact fortune cookie that the waitress would bring so Patrick DeHaan could read after he enjoyed his delicious pho and would choose to write a post about?!!

Yes, and they pressed that button with my instruction & approval. We are guided, NOT steered. You & we are always at the helm, our GAGs are but the rudder, screw & trim vanes.

Always be open minded. But not so open minded your brains fall out.

We don’t allow things in our minds that don’t fit our preconceived ideas. In those areas our minds are closed to conflicting ideas.

Preconception is also a LEARNED trait, habit & characteristic. We can learn others and employ both. That requires thinking, and who wants their head to hurt? Well.....I do....but I'm a bit bent, screwy & off. Never been accused of being thick, however.

Absolutely correct, even through the same storm, s/he who gets hit by lightning will offer a vastly different assessment of the experience compared to everyone else not struck.
