You're welcome. The Committee even still impresses me, and I'm only the radio transceiver, typewriter & stenographer.

"Consider India under British rule and domination but without the colonial boot upon the nation’s neck, and you shall see a general picture of what India will manifest.".

Quite amazing ! This scenario is already manifesting and it will get worse, I presume. This is happening inspite of the "democratic mindset".

Thank you beyond words for the answer to the question of Bangladesh 🇧🇩. I am going to suffer moments of shock & sadness for the loss of 40% , maybe not all lost in my lifetime but nevertheless , poignant & sad. It’s a place where the Earth is so fertile, abundance of tasty vegetables, warmth of the sun & people, monsoon rains that are hard for locals but being afar I can romanticise the hot rain. But all things change, that is our Earth.
I am going to mulch all this post - fantastic information. I feel better informed to keep a level approach to these contentious subject areas. What journeys to come!!

These posts are so appreciated. Thanks Patrick and TC
1. Evergrande debt was covered by the Chinese government for China interests. The corporation is expected to default on the 83+ billion upcoming interest due. What impact, if any, will this default have on the American housing economy? What impact will it have on China’s economy?
2. Are any economic collapses imminent?
3. Will flights from China to the US continue unabated for the next year or so?
4. Volcanic and earthquake activity is on the uptick. Do we have years or just months before the dim period is recognized by most folks?

Santhanu, I was also mulling over this statement for a while when the phrase " Princely States " flashed across my mind. This is a phrase I haven't heard since I read history from my school days. TC's answer makes more sense when the democratic mindset of the Indian citizens are taken into account with the upcoming changes. It will be interesting to see how the populace readjusts and the governance pans out.

@Umasankar: That could be an explanation too. What I could gather so far from what TC said earlier is that the central govt. would have little control over the states similar to what would happen in many big countries. So your intuition about "Princely states" might be right. The states would be functioning autonomously. Also the glacier melt and subsequent water shortage coupled with coastal inundation would be quite devastating

I thought the Chinese govt is going to collapse in the future. + what is the future of the UK? How long will Boris Johnson last? Will is scientific advisors + sage eventually disappear for good? x Will the truth about coronavirus + the vaccines ever come out?

Now tc just needs to tell us about the future of the north and south.

Is the energy crisis the only thing that will happen in Japan?
Any more to say on Japan?

Japan's state religion (Shinto) is very spiritualistic, nature oriented. Perhaps people in Japan have therefore a slightly easier adjustment during the shirt?

Also if Japanese engineers get their act together, suposedly they can develop free-energy devices within a few years. If they so choose.
Would that scenario be playing out? Triggered by the energy crisis?
Would the world benefit from such a development? Or will they all develop free-energy devices at around the same time?

Bangladesh 40% submerged is compatible with a sea level rise around 7,5 meters, that is about 25 feet, and that should be here in about three decades?

This is way bejond the eassessment our climate science has assumed, an way earlier.
If these are the magnitudes involved, we would have to relocate about three billion people in thirty years.
This would be a change of proportions way beyond biblical...
I hope that the sea level rise will involve a longer time, or we will see an endemic carnage of people competing and fighting for the remaining fertile land

The issue is not the general sea level rise, which will likely be less than 7.5 meters.
The issue gets compound by adverse weather and tides.
If you have a monsoon storm or hurricane at full moon high tide, chances are you get 7.5 meters sooner than most scientists thought.
Especially with storms getting stronger and level 4/5 hurricanes more frequent.

Point is if the land is flooded submerged 2-3x per year, the land become uninhabitable. Crops will no longer grow (too much salt in the soil) and reconstructing roads and buildings becomes recurring too often, hence too expensive.

That compound effect, of much stronger and more frequent storms due to global warming plus general sea level rise plus tidal changes have not been foreseen by most scientists.
