I guess I will never understand.
It's not just the periods of light and darkness that gives a sense of time; it's the events that take place.
One minute, we're thinking of doing something, then we do it, then we remember doing it. That's how we experience time. Even if the planet was stationary, we'd still experience this perception of time based on actions or thoughts.
I don't get it!
Replies The Committee:
"Events are a sequence, not time. Time is not memory. Yes, you would experience the sequence, but there would be no passage of time. What you describe is expansion of your soul. You wrap and warp it up, as 'time'; you attach a label. You may affix new labels."
Greetings Patrick and all,
This was a great reader question and observation, and a very comprehensive and satisfying answer provided...
However, while reading this wealth of information about time, or lack thereof, it occurred to me that if we are perceiving time as moving more quickly, will it cause our bodies to age more rapidly, as most of us believe and equate the passage of time to aging? I feel like the years are speeding by!
I have read/heard that as our vibration rises, we will actually age more slowly and enjoy better health along the way. My gut feeling is that being aligned to higher vibrations reduces our stress levels which will improve our overall well being. Just how does this aging thing work?
Responds The Committee:
"First define what you understand aging to be; the changes in the physical structure, function and appearance of your body? We know what you mean, however our answer will make good sense inside the understanding you express. We await your definition."
Yes, I was referring to both physical and mental deterioration that is what we have come to associate with the typical human aging process, generally speaking, that is.
Responds The Committee:
"Changes to the human body are not caused by time, although there is a correlation; as human time elapses, changes occur to the body. The human life plan includes birth, growth then death, many diseases and afflictions either planned or made possible along the route.
Because changes occur as time passes, the pattern of the former is associated with the latter, however this does not have to be.
There are many species on many planets where little change to the physical body occurs over time, and where it happens, it is invisible to the simple observer. This happens also with many species on Earth, where age is nearly or completely unable to be determined from outward appearance.
The original creation of humans allowed for the external changes and deterioration of body functions as they already existed in the animals from whom the DNA was borrowed. This was allowed and chosen, because it is convenient to the purpose of the life plan and incarnation. The illusion of time is well understood by galaxial civilizations with interstellar travel capability. They are also far more aware of the soul as an integral but also separate part of the person or being which includes and requires a physical body, but is far more.
The planned obsolescence of the body allows for a pre-determined end to be scheduled, and also for the risk of unplanned death thus the opportunity to choose, avoid or assume risk and learn from the outcome of either or both.
The process of death itself, to the body, is one of the most teaching to a human. As we have said here and has been said in many laces, death is far easier than birth, so the process leading to death, difficult as it can seem to both observer and s/he who will soon pass on home, offer magnificent opportunity to gain awareness, understanding and perspective only such experience supplies. Time as lived on Earth is an essential ingredient in the mixture.
The process of aging and the changes to the body, offer this also. Great opportunity is contained in choices to accept, reject, observe, react and understand changes to body function, appearance, decay and recovery. Disease is closely linked."
Excellent response, as always--thank you for the perspective that the aging process is built in to our DNA, culminating in our physical death, as planned. Aging is not affected by the speed at which time appears to be moving.
And thank you for the reminder that how we choose to live our lives is all a part of the learning experience we incarnated for...
Very Timely post!!
If Einstein, Pink Floyd, Cindi Lauper & the Beach Boys all joined forces and created a Super Group, they'd really have a set list to complement this post.
Pink Floyd with "Time"
Cindi Lauper with "Time after Time"
The Beach Boys with "Good Vibrations" and
Einstein just hanging out & sitting in, while keeping it all relative with the time.
They could even slow down or speed their tunes up (i.e. 3/4 time or 4/4 time) to give of a different "vibe".
Thanks to Patrick for taking the "time" to type this up. Time & Time again, TC delivers the goods.
Gotta go, I'm outta time at the moment.
Don't leave out Billy Ward & The Dominoes, "Sixty Minute Man" from 1951.
Clever , and to borrow from the motels, take the e out of time, and its tim ! 😀
... or, keep the “E” in Tim and you get Timmy (aka Tim(my), aka Tim(me), aka Tim(E) or Time.
speaking of Time, I woke up this morning and realized that I was remiss in neglecting The Rolling Stones in my comment yesterday, because while Patrick took the time to type up this post and from (our) perspective TC delivers the goods Time and Time again, from TC’s perspective, “TIME AIN’T ON OUR SIDE, YES IT IS” I said, “TIME AIN’T ON OUR SIDE, YES IT IS”.
Not sure if that impression coming through this morning is just what people are referring to as “being WOKE”, or if there is just some kinda Revolution going on (besides another Revolution of the sun).
Curious minds want to know.
TC, CE, and plenty of others, say we attract what we think about. We can attract things we want and things we don't want, depending on what we think about. This is an established spiritual concept.
But this concept is almost exclusively taught in New Agey types of sources. I don't know what percentage of humans will hear about it, much less believe it. Hardly anyone in an established religious setting will hear it.
Why do we come here having no clue about this? Most people will live entire lives without this knowledge. What is the benefit of that?
I guess some of us planned to learn it in this lifetime. It seems like humans must deliberately plan to experience lives without this knowledge and then perhaps to experience lives with it.
What's the deal?
New Agey types of sources" ? Ha ha, I like that, since TheAmendent.net is the exception. I do not qualify as a New Age source, no matter what somebody might say. I'm not at that level. Evidence: the upcoming book about aliens. New Agey writers don't channel outer space visitors.)
Says The Committee in response to your question:
"You individually and all of you together, if separately or collectively, go to Earth to remember what you already know, and to benefit from the experience of your journey and quest. You place many experiences in your path to lead you to this discovery, which is a rediscovery, holding always the option to choose different paths, some which lead to this understanding, some away. All routes are beneficial, and in your case, you have chosen remembrance; well done.
Other humans will choose what they might, but eventually all of you come back to what is known and understand, either before or after death of your bodies. Either rediscovery is good, as the experience is of enormous benefit and enjoyment, no matter which path is followed."
When stressful things are happening all around, how do we know if these things are happening because we planned it, or if they are happening because we aren't very good at focusing on something better?
I guess it doesn't matter. It's all an opportunity to practice where our thoughts go.
@Lorri: You know because you ask yourself, then patiently listen for the answer. It comes as a thought, hunch, feeling or insight.
I have the same perception that time is speeding up. I read somewhere that it is common for people as they age to perceive this which disappointed me because I thought it had to do with my advanced spirituality.
Says The Committee:
"You are mixing two effects.
The longer a human life in days, the smaller each day becomes, as a percentage or portion of the whole life lived. This effect is most acute early in life, often before adolescence and as middle age begins to conclude and approach what is called senior citizenship.
The effect of time accelerating across a week or the feeling that intervals of what previously seemed like a week and now only feel like a few days, is the effect of vibrational rises, and a retuning of the soul to a faster, higher pace.
The second effect is indeed advancement of spiritual awareness and this is what occurs with and to you."
Patrick ... Thanks to you and TC for your response to my questions. This quote stood out for me:
"We know it can be said the weekly pick-up seems to occur every few days. Time has accelerated for this
person, but slowed for others. This occurs because of the individual's higher rate of vibration."
The people in my life, including those younger than my 70 years, are experiencing the same thing, while others seem not to be. If I'm understanding this correctly, my vibration rate is increasing and is causing me to experience the perception that the passage of time is increasing. Is that right? And an increasing personal rate of vibration is good, is that correct? And, is any or all of this related to the Shift?
Says The Committee: "Yes x 3. Your interest in what is written here, the subject in general and related information, is a direct part."
Thank you Patrick & TC. How apt for me.... I ‘be been juggling which day / date to book my ‘surprise’ party for my 50th bday March/ April & checking in on other people’s diaries meant I’ve been playing with what feels right as the day/date to book. I was ‘50th bday but 51st year of being in this incarnation’‘ & ‘’ time, right time, what feels right time meaning date for a good turnout’ as it’s my 1st self celebration like this’ & turned to TC website & Bang... you write about time! Ha!Ha! Please do join me at that time, please be free, enjoy with me my 50th bday. You’re invited TC with sincere joy. Patrick, if you come to Manchester, England i’ll Come to your book signing & tell you how my TC friends said’ hi ‘ No boxed gifts needed , presence is the gift!,, 😘 Wishing heart. Xx
That you have asked means The Committee will be there.
I doubt I'll be in Manchester, unless a sudden windfall hits. Between travel, hotel, VAT for the books, £ card reader, wholesale cost of books themselves, etc. it appears I'd have to sell double the maxium amount I could bring, just to break even.
Isn't it amazing how many songs have the lyrics..."Till the End of time"..
Here is a song from my beautiful George Michael "Praying for Time" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_ZGRJu5uD0
George in my opinion was the greatest songwriter of this generation. OK OK, I know I'm one of his greatest fans ;-) and was a teenager in the 80's when he exploded onto the music scene..........
GM was a great composer, for sure. Who else from the 80s and 90s?
MJ of course.. Madonna.. Many Many, too many to name. I think the 80's music was very happy, colourful and exciting for the world :-)
Oh BTW here is George Michael being a guest on one of the CE mediums Emma. Actually I believe it's the one Elisa has a falling out with. I have never seen Emma before, but she brought in George fantastically and it's worth watching as George gives some great advice....
I confess I lost interest after about 15 minutes into this > 1 hour long video, and sped up to the end to catch only a minute of the advice..
@Patrick.. Yes it was too long to be honest, but because it was George I didn't mind ;-);-)
It means much to me you replied and the reply. Thank you all.
If you want to come to Manchester, my wish for a great miracle to happen can only but be activated. If you do want to, don’t forgo following the leads😉. Always your choice to follow. The purpose & passion is worthy to have great Light shine on it. Namaste 🙏
My love to you all. Lh
Close to my favourite song ever , pretty impressive for someone who listened to songs for a living for 35 years... George Micheal Freedom, i would play, and replay it all the way to work in the mornings during the 90s in my convertable with the roof down.. Doesnt get much better than that as a human experience, i was in my early 30s, cash and different hot chicks flowing thick! ! ! Ahhh memories ! 😁😁
@Steve LOL.... Yes, I find you can NEVER get sick of a George Michael song. FREEDOM 90 is also one of my favourites. He'll be smiling :-)
Dear Patrick & C.
If time does not really exist; if time can go faster or slower,
what exactly is, the thing that we measure using clocks?
I ask this because it is not a trivial concept: science usually cannnot really say "what" time is, but it says that the time is what we measure using a clock. (and what is a clock? a device to measure "time"! So we have pretty a circular logic here, that goes nowhere)
This problem in defining time for science is really interesting, because we have the same with energy: science is actually unable to say "what" energy really is: science is just able to measure various elements (lenght, mass, and "time") that define a certain kind of "energy" (kinetic, potential, thermal etc). Science also is very good in giving precise laws that describe its trasformations between the various forms.
But: what really "energy" is? Why is so elusive?
Thank you for the eventual answers
Energy is consciousness, science does not perceive it as such hence no explanation is possible. Quantum physics acknowledges that energy can be matter or wave. If energy is matter than you have separation creating space and time.
That is my explanation, I am curious to read what TC will tell us.
I'm also interested in what TC has to say about this, but in the "meantime", i'd like to opine.
I'm not sure science alone will ever solve the "equation" of understanding (or "knowing" ourselves fully). It might be that you can't explain the illogical, logically .. (or theo"logically" for that matter).
Speaking of matter, the fact that E=MC2 doesn't quite fully get us there as an explanation, likely means, we need to insert the aspect of "consciousness" into the equation. The "subject" of the theme, needs to be added to the "object" that is matter.
Verbs (action) are interconnected with Nouns (people, places, things - aka matter), for the motion of the ocean to occur and things of that nature.
Perception is a (THE) mechanism that creates our realities. And even without science, we can "perceive" time (or experience time) without measuring it scientifically. Think of natural time (seasons, etc. that creatures use without science instruments or equations) vs. "cultural time" (i.e. clocks, workdays, weekdays, lunch break, give me a break, etc.).
Time can also be experienced in beats. Heartbeats, drumbeats, time between the "bars in a rhyme". And speaking of beats, we can slice up time however we choose, like slicing up a BEET in our kitchens. Slice, dice, julian, it's all part of the "slice of LIFE" .
PERCEPTION is REALITY. The true REALITY TV for our experience on this side of the veil.
Hi TC, I do read these wondrous queries of what ‘Time’ is , Perception, measuring, defining, finding it. I can only.speak for my self..... I don’t care for understanding to the quantum level what Time is or is not. I respect it, like it hate it, run behind of it, get ahead of it. I don’t need to get on my knees & revere it. It asks nothing of us that we’re not giving anyway (our presence).
I don’t know what time constitutes but I know I Iturning 50 soon, I now in the present celebrate my existence & growth awakened by it . I’m kinda having a love affair with it (wow so now we add we can romance with time....another quality of time🙃). TC will feel this I know, the shifts from subconscious to consciousness esp when I recognise that moment of awakening - sometimes quickly sometimes later can be measured before (the experience) and after (the experience) but time has not changed - I have in moments of time. I live the experiences, not the ‘time’’ but it takes ‘time’ & pockets of time in comparative sense I say pre & post ‘that time’ of the experience.
I’ve prob broken a few written & english language grammar rules! I do find Patrick’s writing nearly always 99.999999% perfect expressions & US standard English grammatically correct which of course channeling TC is a reflection of their clarity & high dimensional states of expression (TC & Mr P himself i’m sure). And , as natural as the sun shining, wind breezing, i’m connecting to that more & more & nicely able to ground & live here too. Byreading their work on this website, of course it’s part of the experience to connect, and i’m connecting more & more.
Incidentally, I do keep to time eg try to turn up to work/appts/ bookings on time so i’m not disregarding TIME (or any of the thought trails readers are posting). Time is loyal & is still there when I am late, but humans/trains/planes aren’t (😉😉).
My heartspace wanted to express that whatever time is, its qualities are all in our existence.......qualities ‘in’ time include units of joy, units bliss, units of despair, loneliness, units of fun, units of .....I could go on & on. For me ‘time’,gravity’, ‘space’is our ‘supporting medium’’ within & thru we exist & has different densities in the same ‘space’.
Anyway that’s my spontaneous posting having followed this wondrous thread with delight , bafflement, contemplation. Thank you all, Mr P & TC. This website for me is a great university of thought formations & spiritual growth. It’s parts balances my emotional sensory nature Xxxx lovingly, 😊
......balanced but not neutral, just balanced to MY’ centre. 👽 👩🏽⚖️Xxx
