Previous comments made here about our satellite refer; the moon contains artificial ferrous inserts which keep the same side facing Earth, maintaining alignment and a stable orbit. The moon has almost no magnetism; Earth on the other hand, is a massive, powerful magnet.
The effect of Magnet Earth on Moon Iron keeps Earth's orbit about the sun more stable (oscillation) and our climate is therefore more predictable thus habitable, across far larger portions of land surface. Plus, we have a lot of fun with lunar eclipses and get to howl at it once a month.
Of course there is no proof, making me a fraud, a kook or just crazy. All three?
